Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the Carroll Valley golf course offers interesting terrain without being a full-on mountain golf experience. It's part of the Liberty Mountain Resort, which also offers skiing and snowboarding in the winter months plus year-round dining at several eateries. The course has four sets of tees making it playable anywhere from 4,892 to a challenging but not too strenuous 6,688 yards. Carroll Valley is less than three miles north of the Maryland/Pennsylvania border and about 60 miles northwest of Baltimore.
