This public course designed by golf course architect Rees Jones feels far away from the crowds of what most folks think of as "Virginia Beach". It's a big city, so that can happen here. It's a 10 mile drive from here to the hotels and attractions along the boardwalk.

Rees Jones Public Course in Virginia Beach

Jones had a devilish inspiration when he designed this par 72, 18-hole course with its lakes, interesting fairway angles, challenging greens and 61 bunkers. The course has received many awards after opening in 1982, including Golf Digest's "One of the Best New Courses" rating. We have to assume that the back tee distance of 6,766-yard was chosen for the Hell's Point theme. Four other tee boxes play between 5,003 and 6,426 yards. The course is open for public play year-round and offers annual memberships.

Bionic Golf Gloves

Yeah, the name is a little goofy and they're a bit pricey. However, they're extremely comfortable and last a loooong time compared to standard-issue golf gloves.
